the Book}
“Don’t
you know? Animals like you have no soul.”
Could God ever love a half-blood all of society looks upon with such fear and
disdain? Jace once believed so, but when a tragic loss shatters the only peace
he’s ever known, his faith crumbles as the nagging doubts he’s tried to put
behind him descend on his grieving heart. With them come the haunting memories
of the bloodstained past he longs to forget, but can never escape.
Taken from home at a young age and raised to serve the emperor, Kyrin Altair
lives every day under a dangerous pretense of loyalty. After her unique
observation skills and perfect memory place her into direct service to the
emperor, Kyrin finds herself in further jeopardy as it becomes increasingly
difficult to hide her belief in Elôm, the one true God.
Following the emperor’s declaration to enforce the worship of false gods under
the penalty of death, many lives are endangered. But there are those willing to
risk everything to take a stand and offer aid to the persecuted. With their
lives traveling paths they never could have imagined, Jace and Kyrin must fight
to overcome their own fears and conflicts with society as they become part of
the resistance.

{My Review}
5/5 Stars!
Resistance was reminiscent of J.R.R Tolkien's The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings Trilogy, full of faith, adventure, and intrigue. In this fantasy world, there is a Pagan religion, those who worship false gods, and a Christian religion, those who serve and worship “Elom”. There is no magic to be found in Resistance, so if you object to magic in the books you read than you will be fine with this novel.
There is, however, a fair amount of violence. In Resistance, there is a fight that is described similar to one between gladiators. There is a beheading and a man is whipped. There are scenes in which people are being tortured and those who are determined to survive. This content may be somewhat mature, so parents be cautious.
There is no sexual content.
From scene 1 I was being drawn to Jace and this adventure and will most definitely hang around for the next adventure in Book #2. Also Jace was my favorite character in Resistance, his entire journey he took beside "Elom" was really incredible. Not to mention life changing for Jace. Resistance was a fast paced, faith-filled, suspenseful journey that I will be sure to jump into again in the near future. Probably while I wait for Book #2 to be released. I recommend Resistance to fans of Epic Fantasy, and J.R.R Tolkien of ages 10 & up.
Resistance sounds like an amazing book for such a young author!
